No offense meant, but I like to contradict people.
On the Occidental Observer blog, I replied this to Sunic’s claim that capitalism bears part of the responsibility for mass immigration :
• The immediate advantage of hiring a legal immigrant over a local white person isn’t obvious at all. It is more or less the same wage.
• In the long term, immigration from the third-world will turn the West into the third-world, which is not good for capitalists.
• In the medium term, mass immigration makes unskilled labor cheaper, but cheaper for competitors too. It means that the lower cost of labor has to be translated into lower prices. There is usually no benefit to the employers. Any gain they still manage to scrap out of employing immigrants will be offset by the third-worldization of the country and by the higher taxes levied on businesses in order to subsidize third-world immigrants. Most employers won’t make any big profits from employing immigrants. In today’s context, they have to hire them, but their collective interest would be to expel them all.
The main reason why the West is going down is non-white immigration. In the recent decades, there has been a huge increase in the labor pool due to women, and a huge increase in productivity thanks to continued technical progress. It means that people should have a higher standard of living than they actually have. Where did all the money go? In government bureaucracy, in the Iraq war, in paying old-age pensions, in parasitic activities like advertising, lawsuits and finance. It is also said that the rich have become richer at the expense of the middle class. But the heaviest burden was certainly immigration. I think the capitalists would rather have the money flow into their pockets than into non-white immigrants’ pockets. The capitalists won’t be ruined by the repatriation of immigrants to the third-world. On the contrary.
In France, a big part of immigration now comes from black Africa. They are not very bright. Some of them don’t work at all and get by on welfare and drug money. They are not here at the request of the capitalists, but any capitalist refusing to hire them will be prosecuted by the government.
Capitalism was already in existence before 1960. Back then, business owners did not hire third-world immigrants. It means that there has been a political intervention. It has nothing to do with capitalism. As long as business owners were not allowed to hire immigrants, they didn’t.
In the 18th century, plantation owners used slave labor. When slavery was abolished, they stopped doing so. It is not only a matter of obeying the law. Most employers now feel that slavery is morally wrong. Most employers have morals. They won’t kill for money for example. Until recently, most of them also had a measure of racial loyalty to their fellow white people. They know that their own children will eventually be victims of the non-whites. But in the last decades, there have been huge amounts of propaganda in favor of race-replacement, as well as political pressure on employers so that they would hire third-world immigrants.
Someone like Bill Gates may have been rapacious as a businessman, but the reason he is favoring non-whites over whites has little to do with his personal financial interest. If the problem was the employers’ lack of scruples, why would they support race-replacement and not try to abolish work legislation? Why do they accept to pay business taxes at all?
I think it is very easy for governments to impose new taxes on big business. When that happens, big business simply pays the money. So, it’s absurd to think that the government was not able to resist the pressure supposedly coming from greedy big business in favor of race-replacement. The pressure didn’t come from there.
If there is a theory that the White House and the Congress were bribed by big business so they would let in more immigrants, we need to ask some proof of that: who paid the money and how much? How many business owners were involved? Actually, there are many less destructive ways to support big business interests than to start replacing white people with non-whites. An obvious way to support businesses in exchange for bribes and campaign contributions would be to lower business taxes.
I wonder what kind of business owner would try to bribe the administration in order to increase immigration. As I see it, if a big employer of unskilled labor contributes to the political campaign of a politician in exchange for a promise to support immigration, and if it does result into more immigration, then the new immigrants will spread all over the country and it won’t change anything for that particular employer. (It would be more efficient for a capitalist briber to ask politicians for measures that will directly help his particular (sector of) business: a tax exemption, a contract to supply the government, things like that).
My last point is this: we know that anti-replacement activists are not libeled, intimidated and silenced by big business.
