As i use to say: the Left hates Christianity so deeply because it´s his competence (in the utmost philosophic and ecologic sense).
They compete for the same concept of humanity. From the “kingdom of heaven”, Christianity has come to crave for the same niche of salvation for every little creature on earth that the progressives sees as the eternally “opressed”.
As Faye states in “Why we Fight?”, Christianity has lost the pagan element (solar, heroic, virile) that had developed (or more accurate inherited) in the Middle Ages, and has returned to his origins: the religion of sentimentality, universalism, equality, weak women and slave mores.
