European civilisation’s foe

Yesterday a blogger posted an article, ‘The burning of Notre Dame’ on his WordPress site that Counter-Currents republished today. I would like to take issue with its first paragraph:

As news spread of the fire consuming the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, the first reaction of most people was shock and sadness. You don’t have to be Catholic or French to feel as if some part of you has been lost. That was not just an old building or a historically important place. It was a symbol of Western civilization. Stand inside a great church and you feel the awe and power that inspired the builders. That cathedral was the primal roar of a people celebrating their creator and the essence of who they were as a people.

I am sorry, but Notre Dame was not ‘a symbol of Western civilisation’, but of Western Christian civilisation. Big difference, as explained in one of the essays, excerpted on this site under the title ‘The Red Giant’, that moved me to start a blogging career.

In ‘The Red Giant’ the term ‘Western Christian civilization’ is repeated twenty-eight times, in contrast to ‘European civilization’. As the author put it:

It’s the Western Christian civilization that feeds all these processes (population explosion etc.). So the Western Christian civilization is in fact the worst enemy of what I call European civilization: another reason for wanting the Western Christian civilization to go away.

Even sophisticated intellectuals of the Alt-Right cannot see the difference between Western Christian civilisation and European civilisation, the latter so beautifully expressed in the sculpture of Apollo or in the immense temple of Artemis in Ephesus, one of the Seven Wonders that I would call the Notre Dame of the Ancient World. In fact, not even Lord Clark himself, the author of the 1969 TV series Civilisation, could distinguish between the two.

  1. You have the Occidental Church, or the Latin Church. This eventually became “the west.” Note, though, that even in the Age of Faith, this was a deracinated term. Yea, even prior to Christianity Jews like Flavius Josephus and Saul of Tarsus could become Roman Citizens. So even in pre-Christian times the Roman Empire was deracinated.

Western Civilization is the enemy of White Civilization. Western Civilization began with Alexander the Great.

  2. In a way it is possible to look upon the Notre Dame as one of the great achievements of Western architecture.
I am one of those who believe that this architecture very much allowed christianity to survive longer with us due to the awe these buildings manage to imprint on people.
The building is magnificent, but the religion that it is based upon is not. It is as if the architect could not help himself, and just had to rise above the pettiness of the spirit it was ment to celebrate.

  3. notre dame architecture shows that man can be exceptionally creative when he wants to and the right team somehow assembles.

the wars in mankind’s history shows that man can be exceptionally stupid and brutal and destroying when he wants to and the the right team somehow assembles.

  4. Watching normies express emotion thesedays is cringey asf. They don’t even have authentic emotions. They’re just pissed off that someone ruined one of their selfie backdrops.

  5. Sorry for not having written in the past few days. My first idea when I read that the Crown of Thorns had been burned was “And nothing of value was lost”.

Of course, it’s ironic to me because I’m a preservationist at heart – I am horrified that libraries burn any books. But at the same time, we have to have vengeance in our soul against the Christian madness!

I have recently learned that Russian Communists turned churches into museums of natural sciences and museums of atheism. (Westerners don’t know about it, they can only compare it to what Turks did to Hagia Sophia.) Decent, but at the same time, it’s only applicable to the monuments of value – newly built monstrosities should all be demolished to the ground, to sate the demon of antiquity! The cry for vengeance of our forefathers!

I also wanted to say that Bardamu is a disgusting faggot. In that entry you reproduced, he values highly the economic development of the 1950s. What a joke. Europe is still in the smoldering ruins and the smell of corpses is still in the air – effectively.

He’s also schizo – at one time, he considers having few children a positive development! And then praises National Socialist Germany for promoting fertility! That’s normie-tier insane!

“Globalists claim that low fertility is always a bad thing; but a reduction in the number of excess mouths to feed would allow wages and living standards to rise.” – Cattle axiology! This is so bad, he deserves to ramble about evil banksters!

P.S. The USSR had homosexuality criminalized. It’s sad that Americans find utterly alien the idea of an atheist homophobe.

The only bad things about the USSR were race mixing, pediatrics and feminism. – Punish race mixing, let children die, don’t give women rights! That’s what practice entails, at least.

    • I noticed that Bardamu praised low fertility, reading that section was like reading the plea of a slave prostrating himself before his masters- it was disgusting.
As for the SSR, however, I think there were more problems than those listed. Namely their dogmatic support for mud revolutionaries in Africa.
Then again, the United States did the same.

      • No one who has failed to read The Gulag Archipelago really knows what the Soviet Union was, especially from 1918 to 1956.

    • There are so many crowns of thorns floating about the Catholic Church that one could build a wooden house out of them. Wheless mocks a lot of these “ghastly” relics to scorn. The Romans so totally destroyed Judea that none of these relics could have survived. Medieval Fabrications. I say this as a devout Catholic myself who prays in Latin every day.
